Awards Season is in full swing and, despite another year of virtual parties and socially-distant glamour, the stars were absolutely shining at this year's Golden Globes! While scrolling through the photos of everyone’s gorgeous outfits, we thought “Hey- all these fits look like… gemstones!”
And so, allow us to present:
Is she not a queen? That rich purple. The marabou feathers. The dramatic side slit. This dress has it all, and is a daring take on traditional glamour- just like our Eva Lilac Sapphire ring. The pave diamonds point towards old-school glamour while the east-west setting and double compass prongs shake things up a bit. And that purple!
Dan Levy took one look at this year’s Pantone Color of the Year “Illuminating” and decided he wanted to embody the concept completely. His head-to-toe yellow look immediately made us think of our Yellow Rose Cut Diamond ring. The sequins, the pavé. His gold shoes. That go-big-or-go-home attitude. 2 carats of golden diamond. Corporate asked you to find the difference between these two images and- you couldn’t. They’re the same.
Old Hollywood elegance and sapphires are, basically, a match made in heaven. (Hello! Have you SEEN Titanic?) So, obviously, when we saw Anya Taylor-Joy’s dress in the EXACT color of our Luna Pear Sapphire Ring, we conceded the game to this queen’s gambit. You won, Anya, and we’re not even mad.
Viola Davis’s custom dress by Claude Kameni of Lavie by CK is utterly, jaw-droppingly stunning. Davis wanted a dress that reflected her heritage as a Black woman- something representing “vibrancy, life, and fearlessness” according to Kameni herself. Obviously we are HERE for that! Davis’s radiance in that dress reminds us of our Selena Ruby Halo ring- that gorgeous ruby, the gold reflecting out like the sun’s rays. We might need sunglasses.
Can we talk about Cynthia? Wow. Just, wow. This sleek, ultramodern look has stolen our hearts- it has POCKETS! She looks like she just stepped off her high-fashion spaceship to grace us with her presence and what better encapsulates that celestial vibe than our vibrant SuperNova Russian Emerald ring? The sleek lines and vibrant green color go hand-in-intergalactic-hand.
The volume of this iconic Molly Goddard silhouette that Pike sported to the virtual Ceremony is a statement in itself. The layers and layers of ruffled tulle bring to mind the halo of diamonds in our eye-catching Marisol Ruby Diamond Halo Ring. With the ruby’s hue matching Pike’s look, there really was no other ring we could pair with it.
This is the set that sparked the craze- when we saw it we practically yelled. Susan Kelechi Watson IS our Blue Luna set in her couture Georges Hobeika set. Multiple pieces, shimmery cobalt blue and white gold and diamond. Fun, flirty, classy, these sets should be in a museum together. They’re art.
One look at both that dress and the ring and you can see why we linked them together. Amanda Seyfriend’s mermaid-style dress reminds us of the curves of our Halo SuperNova Pink Sapphire Ring, especially the halo of diamonds and that big fluffy off-the-shoulder situation. And the colors! Sapphires that pinky peach are rare, just like a couture awards gown.
We can not stop staring at that coat. The gold detailing. The rich green. The pops of pink! It’s a sumptuous look, just like our Green Australian Sapphire Zara ring. We love a gold and green combo, and both our Zara and Lee deliver. Opulence embodied!
